St. Mary’s High School had the privilege of hosting esteemed urological surgeon, Dr. Rowena DeSouza, as a guest lecturer for its robotics students. Dr. DeSouza, shared her wealth of knowledge and expertise with the budding engineers and scientists, igniting their passion for medicine and technology.
Dr. DeSouza, who holds a distinguished position at the forefront of urological surgery, captivated the students with her insights into the intersection of medicine and robotics. She demonstrated how advancements in robotics have revolutionized surgical procedures, making them safer, more precise, and less invasive.
“I was amazed at how these young curious minds were already looking for simpler solutions or changes to this sophisticated device to make it ergonomically friendly for the female surgeon,” said Dr. DeSouza.
