Dr. McGowan has been practicing with The Urology Group since 1986. He received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences in 1981. His residencies in surgery and in urology were completed through the University of Tennessee affiliated hospitals.

Dr. McGowan has been certified by the American Board of Urology since 1988 and currently holds memberships with the American Urological Association and the American Association for Clinical Urologists.
